Into the wild Abyss, on the shores of Phlegethon
the dark descent into chaos and eternal night

Engulfed in flames and blinded by faith
sedated with chimerical promises of hope
and false redemption

A vestigial scar of futile dreams
predestined agony

As His livestock put each other to the sword
His estranged pastures are laid to waste
cast into the abattoir
Eden in Absentia!

He'd tie a Gordian knot for a noose
and hang Himself from the Tree of Life
choking on the stench of euphoria
and drowning in last minute dogma
but the paragraphs have turned to dust
and only parasites remain

Embraced in the breast of Atropos
she cuts at the threads without care
divine mercilessness
unforgiving Ananke!

Specious order. Bloated ego.
Self-tempted, self-depraved, dead devotion.
Insufficient to stand, and destined to fall.
An arbitrary test.
End result: inanimate Anima!

Gravenchalice takes a triumphant and complex sound and mixes it with classic Black Metal melodies and thundering drums that just works so well. This sound has been big since DSO became popular, however it doesn't take the dissonance and instead layers everything to make everything nice and beefy while having a great sense of melody.
